Passion Play 2013 BEWDLEY Town Centre England UK Nr Kidderminster & Stourport

The Passion play Started Good Friday 29th March 2013 at 2:30pm and was directed by Stephen Conway. MORE than 2,000 people packed into the centre of Bewdley to see the town’s first Passion play.

The Bewdley Passion 2013 told the story of Jesus Christ’s crucifixion on Good Friday to mark one of the most important events in the Christian calendar.

Actors including Jared Thomas as Jesus and Claire Worboys as Mary Magdalene performed while audience members followed the action towards St Anne’s Church.

The response to the play has been so positive, organisers say that the Bewdley Passion 2015 is in the pipeline. If anybody wishes to be involved please contact Steve Conway on 07774 252 992 or email stephen.conway2012@btinternet.com.

Director Steve Conway said: “It’s been unbelievable. I’ve had emails and texts from all over the country from people who visited Bewdley to say how good they thought it was and that they were moved by the performance. “I’d expected about 300 to 500 people to come but somebody in an upstairs window in Load Street said they started to count but stopped at 2,500.”

The play, which took 14 months to produce, saw Load Street closed for about one hour.
Music was a large part of the performance with the children of St Anne’s CE Primary School and the Bewdley Passion 2013 Choir singing as they followed the actors.

Mr Conway said: “The reaction has just been incredible. I’ve got to be honest, I was so wound up
