Hear great classic songs of the church Sept. 18-21 in Tullahoma

Pastor Ed and Ruth Voosen will tell the inspiring stories behind the great music of the church Sunday through Wednesday, Sept. 18-21 at 6 p.m. at First Christian Church located at 120 W. Grundy St. Tullahoma.

Everyone is welcome to hear the Voosen’s as they lead the singing of traditional songs with their guitar and flute accompaniment.

A snack supper will be offered in the fellowship hall beginning at 5 p.m. for a small donation. Reservations for the snack supper can be made by calling the church office at 455-2200.

Ed Voosen

Pastor Ed Voosen was born and raised in New York City, where he attended Brooklyn Tech, Pratt Institute and Wagner College.

He received his Master of Divinity from Princeton and New York Theological Seminaries and was ordained by the Lutheran Church. His first parish was in Brooklyn, NY and in 1974 he was called to Bethel Lutheran Church in Auburn, Mass. where he served as pastor until his retirement in 2010. In 1980, he initiated the use of computers in the Bethel church office, an innovation that was written up in Time magazine, The Lutheran magazine and the Worcester Telegram and Gazette.

Pastor Ed served for 21 years as the secretary of the New England Synod – an elected position he held from 1987 to 2008 when he retired from the office. He served on the Synod Council, Synod Executive Committee, the board of directors for the
