Jeanne Andrecht Forrest
Daughter of Ed and Mary Jenkins, Jeanne was born January 27, 1920, on a farm near Perry, Iowa, and died Wednesday, November 9, 2016, at the age of 96.
She attended grade school in a one room country school and attended Redfield High School, graduating in 1937. She attended American Institute of Business in Des Moines, Iowa.
She moved to California in 1938, with her sister, Ursal. In California she furthered her education by attending night school at U.C.L.A.in Business Administration.
In 1940, she married Conrad Andrecht and had two sons, Robert, deceased October 10, 2013, and Stephen.
In 1951, she went to work for Northrop Corp. in California. While at Northrop she was very active in the Northrop Recreation Club, holding several positions. She was commissioner of the Travel Club for seventeen years. She coordinated tours and directed them. In 1966, she took a group of 40 around the world in 33 days; other tours were to all five continents. She was also secretary for the Northrop Electronics Management Club. She retired from Northrop in 1978, after 27 years.
Jeanne retired to Roseburg, OR, to be near her grandchildren. She met George Forrest and they were married in 1983. She and George traveled to Canada, driving a R.V. and towing a Jimmy 4×4 with a boat on top. They fished every providence across Canada, ending in taking a fall color tour for two weeks. Jeanne helped George in his Preference Pool and Spa business for nine years.
