Eurosport agreed a deal to broadcast the Swix Ski Classics series across Asia, in time for last Saturday’s event at Oberammergau in Germany.

The long distance ski series, which is made up of six events per year, will be broadcast by Eurosport in South Korea, Mongolia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Philippines, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei, Papua New Guinea and Australia.

“Being able to reach the Asian and German public is great news for Swix Ski Classics. Eurosport is a great step in order to reach new fans across the globe and also an opportunity for our existing fans to see the races.” said David Nilsson, the chief executive of Swix Ski Classics.

There are three events left in the 2014 season. The next event takes place on 2nd March, after the winter Olympics have concluded, in the Swedish town of Vasaloppet.
