Constance T. “Connie” (Recore) Rivard, 80, of Blackstone, formerly of Woonsocket and Bellingham, passed away peacefully Saturday, Dec. 21 with her loving family by her side.
She was the beloved wife for 59 years of Normand A. Rivard. She was born in Woonsocket, R.I., on Aug. 14, 1933, to the late Peter A. and Dorilda (Paul) Recore.
She was the loving mother of Deborah Baro and her husband, Robert of Blackstone, Mass., Gisele Golembeski and her husband, Richard of Woonsocket, R.I., Russell Rivard and his wife Joanne of Woonsocket, R.I., Michael Rivard and his wife Vicky of Kansas City, Mo., and Christopher Rivard and Sheila Shepherd of Blackstone, Mass. She leaves her cherished grandchildren, Jason Harvey and Melissa Brodeur; Stacey Peckham and Timothy Golembeski; Jennifer Rivard; Matthew, Michael Jr., Brittany, Ryan, Shawn, Jordan, Jessica and Jarad Rivard; Jillian and Rebecca Rivard; and Justin Baro; and her six great-grandchildren. She was the sister of Raymond Recore of Blackstone, Mass., Omer Recore of North Smithfield, R.I., and the late Joseph Ricard, William and Eugene Recore, Alma Dubois, Regina Lacroix, Alice Dufresne, Rita Degrange and Yvonne Recore.
Connie received her Associates Degree in Nursing from Community College of Rhode Island and was a Registered Nurse at Landmark Medical Center for 20 years until retiring in 1987.
Connie and her husband Normand loved to travel and visited all the 50 states of the United States and all the Canadian Provinces by motor home, and also traveled through Europe and toured China. The highlight of all their travels was the Passion Play in Oberammergau, Germany.
She was a member of the former Royal Travelers. She was a communicant of St. Paul’s Church. Devoted to her family, Connie will be greatly missed.
Her funeral was held Dec. 28 with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Paul’s Church, 48 St. Paul Street, Blackstone, Mass. Interment was in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham.
